The league is a mix of corporate-sponsored teams, former collegiate and high school athletes, to friend groups, and free agent individual players formed teams. League members come from a wide range of industries and backgrounds, and we even have some well known New Yorkers who have not given up their love of the game.
Members’ ages range from recent college graduates to experienced players in their late 40’s and 50’s.
Both teams and individual players are placed in divisions based on their self-assessed skill level and position before their first season. Afterwards, all players and teams will be moved up/down a division based on their performance and their feedback on their experience. NYC Basketball is proud to help plan & provide basketball related events for schools, charities, and other organizations that give back to New York. Past examples have included events planned for New York based youth basketball groups and teams, jersey and equipment donations to local youth groups, and support of New York scholarship competitions.
